Cutting It Short

Need some advice about my thick hair?

My hair is very thick.I usally get the same haircut all the time but its really short and its getting boring.My girlfriend wants me to grow my hair like medium legnth im still growing it but I feel so shaggy and stuff lol.Can anyone recommend some mens hair styles for men with thick hair?I really dont know anything about hair styles so this would help me out so much when I go to get my hair cut.
