Easy ways to do a side ponytail with short straight hair?

I have short straight hair and whenever I do a side ponytail my layers fall out. I can’t brush all the hair on the top to the side cause I have side bangs.

First, use a gel that will hold your hair in place and give it body. Then put your hair in a low ponytail. Use bobby pins to fasten the layers that fall out and hairspray it. Leave your bangs out, don’t brush them to the side. Let your hair do what it wants. ;D
