How do I get a layered haircut without getting a mullet?

Everytime I go to the hairdresser, I bring a picture of the hair I want. But even with a picture, every time I either get an “inverted bob cut” like Posh Spice, or way worse- something like a mullet.

i don’t want the back shorter like Posh, but when the back is longer, it looks like a mullet, and I have had a layered haircut a long long time ago, that DID not look like a mullet, so I know its possible……..

So what exactly is the difference between a mullet and a layered style?

How do I explain so I do not get a mullet?

Is there a difference in the layers, placement of the layers, or just how the layers

hahaha, ask for long layers through out your hair, if your hair is already short then i would wait to grow it out but hopefully if u tell them you want long layers they listen
