do girls still look good in short haircuts?

I’m really wanting to cut my hair because i feel like girls hair in America are all so boring, everyone’s hair looks all the same to me. So I’ve been wanting to go with something different.
also, should i cut my hair during Christmas break before prom? or should i keep long hair for prom, then cut it after?
personally, i don’t really care about prom, so it doesn’t matter if i go with short hair.
another reason i want short hair is because I’m deciding on going into the US NAVY so i would need my hair short anyway, and I’m definitely not letting them cut my hair, haha.

Go for it. The change will make you more confident, which is always great for a prom?

Personally I have regretted having my hair cut short because it takes ages to grow, but if your going to have your hair cut anyway why not?!
