Are kids scared to be indiviual these days?

I was in college a little while ago with my little brother and noticed that all the boys have the same haircut, the same clothes, the same shoes and the same school bags and the girls seem to be like that too. I must say that a lot of these people are not teenagers either some must be in their 20s, What happened to being an individual and standing out from the crowd? I noticed those that “dared” to be different from what I seen in my short time in there are ridiculed or looked down upon. Was speaking with a nice little boy whilst my bother was getting his bursary sorted, I think it was because he was wearing a nice white shirt and black trousers boys (and men) in a group passing said “alright geek, buy some new clothes” I just kept my mouth shut seeing as they’re kids. my father used to always say to me when I was a boy “son, never be a sheep be a man”

i think that some are yes wrighty, there”s to much pressure these days to have the right clothes, and right haircut, and the best mobile phone, and the trainers which are more expensive than everybody else”s,.. due to the plain fact, that if you don”t have any of the above, no one will want to be your mate, and you”ll probably get bullied. it”s all wrong in my eye”s wrighty, you should be accepted for who you are,and most definitely shouldn”t be afraid to show your individuality…

my 4 year old daughter starts school in a couple of week”s and in the welcome pack we recieved was a letter stating ” no brand name item”s ( i.e..nike trainers, or adidas rucksack), will be allowed in school, this is to treat all children fairly, and to prevent bullying…honestly wrighty that is true…
