do bob haircuts have to be short in the back?

im getting my haircut friday, i kinda want a bob, but does it have to be short in the back

I went asked for a bob that would suit my face, but said not too short. My hairdresser cut it just bellow my ears and soo short in the back. The shortest hairs were probably two inches in length. At one point she even had to shave the “little hairs on the back of my neck.” I freaked out going from about five inches below shoulder and never having short hair to such a short cut.

Bobs don’t have to be shorter in the back, but it depends on the hairdresser. I would bring a picture and be very specific about what you want and do not want.
