Cutting It Short

Short hair styles? i need so ideas?

I have short hair. I know how to do hair, but only longer hair. My hair is quite short. it use to be right at my ears practically but now its right about my shoulders, like it barely touches my shoulders. My hair use to be long but I managed to majorly screw up my hair. I try to curl it but my hair is so think that it makes it look really ugly. I have pulled it back and left a litte hairs in the front stay and kind of make natural curls, but that is all i can think to do. Any ideas? I have to keep my bangs down no matter what because i don’t like them to be up or to the side.
I would never wear a wig, that is terrible idea.
And i can’t have a emo style, I am trying to get away from being seen as that. And it is called a scene style now fyi. And no that is not how you cut your hair for that style
I usually straighten it all and it looks good but i need other ideas.
I already had extensions, I don’t like having them in my hair, it really annoying
