permanent straightening, salon or diy?

I have extensions in my hair which i love but they are very hard to look after and style due to my natural hair being short and curly so the next time i have my extensions in i am going to have my hair permanently straightened and dont want to damage it so am not too sure about a home kit? my hair is dry as i colour it and straighten it a lot anyway. or should i have it done in a salon? i just didnt want to spend a fortune? but also didnt want to ruin my hair? please advise??
so does noboday know the answer to my question which is asking for the name of a good method of permanent straightening? i know straightening is not good, i know curly hair is nice, i know over dying is not good, i only use the best products on my hair etc etc but my question is not actually about this, it is purely asking about recomeneded straighteners…please??

It sounds like your hair is overprocessed. I would not try a diy kit.
