What should I wear to my formal?

I have black hair i’m planning to get it straightened.
I have olive skin.
I’m short.
I wear red glasses.I have brown eyes.My face shape is oval.
Any tips on what colour dress I should wear preferably something that will make me look taller preferably?
How i should style my hair.I know I’m getting it straightened but what should I do with it?(pony tail etc.)
How should I do my make-up?
