Good hair cuts for curly hair?

so i have really curly, frizzy, and thick hair.
it is past my shoulders, a couple of inches
however i want a change.
and i have no idea what to do.
usually if i cut my hair the shorter i cut it the bigger it is.
and thats deff not what i want.
suggestions?

I feel you! I have long naturally curly hair. My hair is not thick (it has the texture of straight hair only really curly) But I do have a TON of hair so it seems thick. I love my hair dresser because she is an expert at cutting curly hair. She gives me long layers and highlights it in a way that allows for multi dimensions. My hair is the same when it gets shorter it gets bigger and curlier. If you want to get it shorter and not have the bigness of it you might think about a relaxer (dulls the curl down thus eliminating the bigness). Wish I could be more help. best thing to do would find a stylist who specializes in curly hair. I believe on the www.ouidad.com website you can search for stylists in your area that specialize in curly hair cuts.

Wouldnt it be nice if you could open a magazine and find cuts for naturally curly hair instead of seeing straight haired girls who used a curling iron. Sorry that is not what curly hair will look like!!
