Cutting It Short

I am looking for a new hairstyle. What are some good shorter hairstyles for thick hair?

I have an oval face and thick, dark hair. I want to go shorter but not quite as short as the chinese bob. I go to school so I can just get it done at school…Any pictures or ideas? I’m afraid to go short because everytime I went short before, it was too bulky and looked bad. Any help or input is appreciated.
