Is a bob haircut right for me?

I’m thinking of cutting my hair. My hair right now has loose, easily manageable waves, but only because my hair is long. It also has natural volume. I’m thinking of getting a chin-length bob with some sort of bangs but I don’t know if the bob itself will be too short. My friend said I’m too skinny to have a bob haircut – I have an oval face with a slightly larger forehead, a pointed chin (pretty much a babyface) and I’m about 5’3″ and 90 pounds…would that hair look okay?
