Bob Haircut Shorter In Back

Going back to stylist after haircut?

I had my haircut yesterday – and it was a major haircut from long to a short/layered bob. I have thick hair so it is pretty tough to manage. I went in looking for a Katie Holmes type bob haircut, and what I have is similar, but there is a long section at the nape of my neck, and it reminds me of a mullet. I can see that this can be very stylish (I’ve seen Mandy Moore with this haircut, but not quite as nice), but it sticks out A LOT and isn’t quite me.

I was willing to give it a try for a few days before judging, but I don’t think it will work. I know the stylist realized I was a little iffy about the back, but I liked the front (though shocking to me).

Should I :
a) go back to this expensive stylist 20 miles away to fix it… this requires arranging a babysitter, etc. I’m not sure if I’ll keep going back to him anyway because he was $85.
b) just go to Great Clips down the street and have them taper the bottom to be more like an angled bob.

Don’t know what to do!

my mom is a hair dresser, and if someone doesn’t like what she did, she usually fixes it for free. of course, she doesn’t charge $85 dollars to begin with! to be honest, i don’t like great clips (my mom does my hair!), but if you trust the people there, i would go in for a quick fix if the other hair dresser won’t comp the redo.
